Bio
Melissa started her singing career at the age of 18 in local restaurants and from there built a loyal following. After capturing the eye of a popular and talented salsa director, she began performing with his band instilling her love for salsa and other Latin rhythms. Shortly following, her brother Arturo formed his own band having her sing with him. They performed at various venues in many cities. One of them being the Verizon Amphitheater opening for Marc Anthony, Chayanne, Laura Pausini, Alejandro Fernandez and Marco Antonio Solis. After the band stopped performing, she ventured in R&B and Top 40 bands. Later she sang along side the original Sonora Dinamita, until she decided to finally form her own band with original and expressive songs, The West Coast Swing. The WCS offers a different and modern twist to the L.A. salsa scene combining an energetic salsa beat and R&B feel along with Melissa's unique and impressive vocals, captivating audiences everywhere she is heard.
