Bio
Fair Share started in 2003 when guitarist Mike Mercy and vocalist Melissa Beck decided to collaborate as songwriters by blending his musical compositions with her lyrics. The pair produced some rough recordings but before long it seemed the music was leading them in another direction. Looking to bring a new element to the music and to the live show they decided it was time to complete the band. Mike found the bass guitarist in childhood friend and former band mate Josh Straight. The search for the perfect drummer ended when they reconnected with musician Alastair Wilson. The bands new full sound set off Melissas personal lyrics with the perfect rock edge creating the contrast that has brought Fair Share their loyal following so early on. Together theyve created their own sound out of influences in classic as well as modern rock. In early 2005 Fair Share went into the recording studio to put together a demo, the result was a full length self-titled LP, further proof of the creative talents and ambition of the four musicians.
Based in Northridge, Fair Share is currently pursuing new opportunities for live shows in the Southern California area. They are seeking to meet and network with other bands and expand into new venues. Their sound, which is less concerned with genres and more with quality, is quickly bringing in a growing fan base and allows the flexibility to play both large and small shows.
