Bio
Born and raised in Melbourne Australia, Melissa Page came to the U.S. in 1995 with a backpack and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, Drama & Theatre Studies and Film & Television. She has performed all throughout Australia, U.K., Europe and America.
Melissa Page's songwriting was acknowledged by the judging panel of the 12th Annual Billboard World Song Contest with four Honorable Mention awards. The awards were presented in recognition of her original composition "Where I Belong", which received the honor in both the Dance and Pop categories, as well as her original Jazz compositions "Now That You're Here" and "Rock Me". Songs ranked at the level of "Honorable Mention" are considered by the judges to be exceptionally strong and commercially appealing.
"Crayons" drew the attention of Australia's most famous music reporter, Ian "Molly" Meldrum, who chose to feature it on his "Artist of the Month" page on the Mp3.com.au website. Thousands of listeners rated the song and pushed it to number one on the rock/pop charts for several weeks.
Melissa formed GOE Records in 2005. GOE stands for Green On Earth, which is also one of the tracks on Melissa's Tangerine Love CD. Melissa's band is slowly but steadily working on a new album so please stay tuned...
