Melissa Rosenberg

Melissa Rosenberg was born on October 9, 1985 in Staten Island, New York, and was raised in New Jersey. She asked for piano lessons at the age of 2, and began composing tunes shortly thereafter. As a student at Princeton Day School, Melissa performed in numerous plays and musicals. (She also managed to wriggle out of a number of English class assignments by writing songs instead of essays.) At Princeton University, where she majored in English, Melissa's performance of an original song earned her the title of "Princetonian Idol" in 2006. After graduating from Princeton in 2008, Melissa worked at several jobs and studied theology and psychology, doing what she could to avoid "settling down." She realized in 2011 that writing songs was one of the only things she had done consistently since childhood. It was at that point that she decided to pursue songwriting as a career. She is currently recording a solo album.
