"Mellifluous Making Waves"

Mellifluous is all about a few boys who came together through a love of music, life and drinking beer. We had the pleasure of meeting each other through mutual friends and connected on the common ground of being all about playing music and enjoying the moment. We live in Western Australia, in Yallingup and Dunsborough. Our roots are hardcore New Zealand. Nick Campbell and Nathan Wilson hail from Taranaki, West Coast NZ. Brice Taylor and Paul Perrin hail from East Coast 'Paeroa', world famous for its natural beauty. Our music is deeply influenced by all the New Zealand roots music that touched our souls and minds as we grew. Our music as we make it is affected by our lifestyle, the beautiful beaches we get to surf everyday and the friends and family who share their love of life with us

Mellifluous have been busy over the 2 years they have been playing ,
recently touring W.A with busy Melbourne band BONJAH.
Touring NSW and NEW ZEALAND last Xmas/New Year where they played some huge shows, one in particuliar a show in the world famous Pukekura Park in TARANAKI,NZ the hometown of two of our members where over 1000 people turned out to support the boys a night to remember.
Island Vibe Reggae Festival on stradbrok island, BRISBANE was a huge experience for the boys they got the oppurtunity to share the stage with kiwi reggae heavy weights KATCHAFIRE not to mention Aussie greats KINGFISHA and BANAWURUN.
Support slots on W.A tours for BONJAH, TZU, and BANAWURUN have been big steeping stones for MELLIFLUOUS some good friendships have been made and will b built on in the near future.
The 6 Star MARGARET RIVER PRO, WEST AUSTRALIAN IRONMAN and MEELUP BEACH FESTIVAL have all been huge gigs aswell, not to mention countless city and south west shows in the many local venues we fill up on a regular basis.

Recorded, mixed and co produced with Legendary Engineer JEREMEY ALLOM(The specials,Massive Attack,David Bowie) they came up with 6 tracks of reggae, roots with a funky/ska feel.
A learning curve for the boys they now cant wait to re enter the studio for there debut album witch is not far of a start in SYDNEY at THE FLAVOUR studios, in waterloo.

Nick Cambell grew up under the mighty Mt Egmont in Taranaki. At age 9 he picked up the guitar and to this day it is one of the best decisions of his life. Music brought out a side of him that he never thought he had. Quiet and shy as a young kid, music has changed that. He has played with friends over the years, always with a dream of maybe one day playing in front of crowds and a move to Western Australia brought that opportunity. He moved in with Nathan where they jammed on a regular basis, and a move to Dunsborough paved the way to meeting Paul and Brice, playing in his backyard shed. Reggae music is buried deep inside Nick with years of Bob Marley abuse and more recently the likes of Katchafire and Unity Pacific keeping his habit alive. Along the way he has meet some amazing and loving people who he is so grateful for. Nick will take Mellifluous’ music to the people of the world and let them enjoy the feelings he has when writing the songs. Peace to the world and respect to Bob Marley!!!

Nathan Wilson
Born and breed in Taranaki, Nathan “Willie” Wilson grew up listening to the smooth sounds of his pop mastering the keys and accordion and his uncle hitting the drums His uncle gifted him his prized possession - his acoustic guitar he had learnt with and Willie gave music a go - learning that both the ocean are music are the way to sooth the soul. He”crossed the ditch” and discovered the Sunshine Coast waves were good, but heard WA was the magic spot. He borrowed a guitar and started busking outside pubs to fund a ticket to WA where he caught back up with Nick to form Mellifluous with a couple of lemon farmers from the east.

Brice Taylor
Introduced to music and the arts from a young age by his grandmother and mother, it wasn't until a few years later that his love affair with bass started. Gently encouraged by his grandmother, Brice travelled for a few years and wasn't playing much until he came to WA chasing waves. He picked up music where he left off, eventually playing bass with Aquamans Lab until 2007. He has known Paul for years and is inspired by the great musical community in the Dunsborough and Margaret River reasons. Stoked to have made Nick and Nathan's acquaintance, Brice is looking forward to the road ahead with these boys, making music and living in Yallingup.
