Melody Calley

Melody Calley and The Best Dream is an original rock band in Syracuse, NY.
Melody is the songwriter and leader of the band. She starting weaving a style of melodic, haunting rock at a young age, fingerpicking an acoustic guitar, she loved the styles of folk, pyschedellic rock, and blues played by 60's legends-Bob Dylan, Moody Blues, the Doors. Then she was enchanted by the grunge rock scene of her days. From the get-go melody wrote folky style material and later began to write more rock and roll style songs. Her lyrics tell of personal struggles, insights and wisdom. The melodic structure of the songs is a world-based, mysterious mixture of emotional energies playing out in dissonances and harmonies. She started showcasing her original compositions early on at coffeehouses and open mic nights. Melody has played at many of the best clubs and festivals in downtown Syracuse over the years.
She has now teamed up with two of the areas finest musicians: Joe Micoletti (formerly of Umbrella People), who plays drums and works out arrangements of alot of the songs, and talented bassist James Bort. The three have been rockin out half the year now preparing to bring you a memorable show that will move you deep inside.
