MELONNEE DESIREÉ - is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, bass player, producer, performing and recording artist, having performed professionally throughout California and the West Coast for over 35 years. She performs with incredible emotion and energy that moves and engages her audiences wherever she is performing.
Melonnee grew up in Sacramento and moved to Grass Valley last year. She comes from a family of musicians where her mother sang professionally “big band” tunes of the 1940’s, and her uncle played the club circuit throughout the United States. Melonnee started singing and playing music at the age of 9 when she sang with her mother, and also learned how to play guitar. Melonnee later learned how to play bass guitar and keyboards.
Winner of the 2008-2009 Best Blues/R&B Performer by the Northern California Music Critics Association, critics have described Melonnee’s singing, guitar and bass playing, stage and musical performance as “powerful, passionate, energizing and soulful”, as she weaves and works it all into her own blend of soulful funky Blues/R&B music. Whether she is performing her own original music from one of her CDs, or cover songs from other well-known artists, she interacts and connects with her audience, making for an extremely enjoyable event for who ever comes out to either watch, dance or just listen to her. Melonnee’s musical influences are diverse and include: Bonnie Raitt, Francine Reed, Eric Clapton, James Brown, Stevie Ray Vaughn, B.B. King, Etta James, and others.

Melonnee has a great band of musicians behind her, featuring a roster of excellent, seasoned pros that include: Rick Cartwright on guitar and vocals; Dorothy Sills on sax, harmonica and vocals; Tommy Rizzi on keyboards; and last but not least - holding down the groove of the band - are Vinnie Pantaleoni on bass, and Charlie McGimsey on drums. Both Vinnie and Charlie were original members of the well-known 1980’s band - Steel Breeze, who recorded the Top-40 hit song -“You Don’t Want Me Anymore”. Charlie also performed in the well-known band, Stoneground, and has opened for the bands Huey Lewis and the News, REO Speedwagon, Sammy Hagar, Peter Frampton, Edgar Winter, Loverboy, Eddie Money, Elvin Bishop, Lynyrd Skynyrd and others. Charlie is also endorsed by D.W. Drums, Paiste Cymbals, Silverfox and HipTrix drumsticks.
