Bio

Meltdown is what you get when you combine the influences of James Brown, Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, & Tito Puente. Although natives to New York, they have a mass appeal to all the coasts from the east to the west, north, south, and overseas. Their original styles incorporates the essence of funk, jazz, latin, R&B, & reggae, into hip hop/r&b with melodic singing, hot rhymes and explosive production.
Sayla V. amplifies the tracks with his distinctive style of singing, and combustible production that brings music to a new level. He’s not afraid to use live instruments and seasoned musicians, that have played with music legends, to lace his tracks. Likwid is the rapper that blazes the tracks with the explosive hip hop lyrics and hot concepts to the Meltdown formula.
Sayla V. directed Meltdown'ts first music video that was shot out in the tropical settings of Miami.
SAYLA V. and LIKWID have also opened up for many groups including showcases with “Nice & Smooth”, “Cypress Hills”, “Poor Righteous Teachers”, “Wu-Tang Clan” and various R&B groups . They have also performed in clubs ranging from Dallas Texas, Miami Florida, Atlanta Georgia, Canada, Puerto Rico, & all over N.Y. & the tri-state area. Their diversified background attracts a multitude of audiences from all creeds and cultures. Their show is explosive with their background dancers keeping the high energy flow of the show.
Sayla V. has worked with some of the industry's top notch credited producers & artists. He also produced and written theme song for the mafia movie "One Deadly Road" featuring Burt Young.
Meltdown's performances have been seen on many of the cable networks nationally. They have also perfomed with live bands including “Funk Monk” , “Baba Shem”, and “Needles in the Creek”.
