"Meltdown yellow is one of the best new rock bands that I have had the pleasure of hearing. Tight guitar riffs, great rhythm and excellent vocals are all part of the Meltdown yellow package. Their website explains "Meltdown Yellow’s music is best described as high energy, hard-hitting guitar rock with strong melodies and a punchy backbeat.” which, IMO, describes them perfectly. Watch for their CD which I hope is going to be released soon but for now, surf over to their website for some great tunes. Check out this great band when they come through your area."

Bio

From: Raleigh, NC
Formed: July 2002

It’s rare that a band should be so immediately and amazingly accessible to casual fans AND hard-core musicians at the same time, but that’s what separates Meltdown Yellow from almost every other band in North Carolina.

Meltdown Yellow’s music is best described as high energy, hard-hitting guitar rock with strong melodies and a punchy backbeat. Their songs are both eclectic and dynamic and range in style from danceable rock to dark and moody to heavy and intense. In addition to a set of all original material, the band regularly performs a small array of covers from artists like Stone Temple Pilots, The Beatles, Billy Idol, and Black Sabbath.

Meltdown Yellow began with the longtime guitar and bass combination of Chris Williams and Jeremy Harper. The duo hooked up with singer/songwriter Paul Leary in June of 2001 and the trio immediately began writing. Once a full set of all original material was ready, they began auditioning drummers and in July of 2002, New York native Eric Kelly answered the call and the lineup was complete. Within a month, Meltdown Yellow hit the studio and began recording. The band released a 6 song EP in late 2002 and almost immediately, through radio play and live performances, a buzz began to circulate and continues to grow.

Meltdown Yellow’s music enjoys heavy rotation on 88.1 WKNC, and is aired on several other radio stations including 96.1 WBBB (96 Rock) and 1090 AM WBZB. They regularly play to large crowds at venues all over North Carolina. With the help of the strong management and promotional team, the band has quickly developed a strong, loyal fan base. They are professional, hard working, and know exactly how to please a crowd. With the same magnetism and charisma of the most popular bands of our time, Meltdown Yellow shows consistently impress.
