Bio
The name Mene Mene, pronounced [mɛneɪ mɛneɪ], comes from Daniel 5:25, where King Belshazzar has a vision depicting the end of his reign. Like the interpretation of the dream, Mene Mene hopes to bring thought-provoking, allegorical ideas for listeners while creating aesthetically pleasing music.
The group Mene Mene is singer/pianist Brad Feagan and drummer Alec Stockman. The two have been playing together in various bands throughout the Kansas City area for nearly 2 years. Before Mene Mene Brad studied voice at KU, obtained his teaching degree, and played bass and piano in several prominent local bands. While playing with Louisiana Street Band, he won a national battle of the bands competition and recorded in LA. He also plays bass for the Kansas City-based band Future Kings. Alec, a KC native, has played drums for several well-known bands including The UK’s. Brad and Alec have played Crossroads Music Fest, 105.1 Bye Week Brew Fest, Grinders, and other local music showcases.
Mene Mene sounds epic, orchestral, and dark. Drawing inspiration from bands like Muse, The Dresden Dolls, and Tool, they create an ineffable blend of genres. Brad’s classical piano style over Alec’s technical drum skills create unique, poignant, and stirring sonorities. Their lyrics aim to evoke specific feelings and thoughts in their listeners while the music pulls them in with haunting melodies, powerful dynamics, and off-beat grooves.
