The MENTAL CIRCUIT story

One of Toronto's newest hard-edge rock bands to emerge, the Circuits became mentally wired together during the late summer months of twenty-ten.

Prior to the birth of Mental Circuit, Plaz Circuit (guitarist, singer-songwriter ) composed numerous songs, four of which are posted on both garageband.com and myspace.com. Pleased with the work and the response, Plaz began the journey of finding band mates.

Rage recalls the first moments listening to the tracks: "What a sick guitar sound -- full, distinct, grinding, piercing, aggressive and in-your-face sound. There is definitely something here that gets the adrenalin flowing."

From the initial meetings and jams, the mojo seemed right. Bass lines were worked into the mix. DuHast was approached and brought on board to provide the solid metering and to round out the rhythm section. With the arsenal of material, a 45-minute set was ready.

The first-ever show by Mental Circuit, a charity event known as NewzaPalooza, was held at Toronto's Opera House. The evening as hosted by comedian Mike Bullard and a number of celebrity judges including renown music critic Ben Rayner. After the set, Mike Bullard jokingly recapped the set as the "band voted most likely to kill someone." JJ, Newza organizer fired off the following tweet: "Mental Circuit was absolutely shredding at Newzapalooza. The boys were blistering."

Since then, Mental Circuit has performed at a number of shows, sharing the bill with various local bands. Currently in the process of recording and mastering a selection of tunes in the studio and brainstorming ideas for a video.
