Bio
Mercury and the Sun is a project consisting of songs written by Jason Steinmetz, who plays guitar and sings and is supported by Samantha Cragg, who adds bass and vocal harmonies. The songs are often dark with fits of euphoria, loving without the loss of reality, and intimately honest and human. The sampled drum beats drift between a natural drum kit to synthesized electronic beats while pulsing electric guitar riffs combine with intricate bass lines. Jason's vocals are humble, but strike deep with emotion and are embellished with Samantha's delicate harmonies.
The duo formed in the fall of 2012 after their previous band The Diatoms, broke up over the summer of 2012.
