How great it is to have such super community support! These folks conceived and orchestrated an entire charity concert event to help the unwanted animals of our community. We are proud to be involved with such a compassionate group of people! - Ms. Cody M. Rice, Director of Volunteers/Education, Gulf Coast Humane Society
Mercury Descends opens the breathing channels in your brain w/their brilliantly intermiXXed layers of substantially manipulated multiplied moving musical focal points that welcomes and challenges ones purest thinking. - BOOMer - WSHE/BIG106-Miami
They're meditative, shocking, electrifying, imaginative, yet localiZed w/each original track as ALL of their album creations [thus-far] lean in the greatness of the CONCEPT. Get a seat belt for your brain. You'll need it. - Chipp Sorrentino - WGGG-Gainesville
Keep your eyes and ears open for Mercury Descends, this band is on a mission. They are one of the hardest working bands in Corpus Christi. They are great to work with and very entertaining. Mercury Descends is making their mark with energetic shows and creative marketing. - Casey Lain, Owner, Texas House of Rock
I'm most impressed with the musicality of the band. - Dean Serletic, Virgin Records NY, Sr A&R
Mercury Descends blends sweet, emotive melodies with complex polyrhythms in a seamless way. All are masters at their instruments and know how to complement a song by playing what the part needs. I have been a fan for years and will continue to be as long as they keep putting the music out. - Ivan Pena, CEO, Mohawk Bomb Records

Bio
Mercury Descends started in Tokyo, Japan in August 2004. We were 5 American servicemen stationed at Yokota Air Base and were prowling the scene to start something good. Luck, beer, and fate brought us to the Chicken Shack, a great little music/hippy bar close to the base.
All of the regulars there are trapped in the 70s. Nothing like classic rock, tight embroidered pants, and beer to fan the flames of creativity. Plus, it’s situated right in the middle of the local red light district, which makes for amusing and interesting crowds. What a great place to get started.
And get started we did. We released a self-titled 5 song EP 3 months later, and haven’t lost a shred of momentum. We finished Foreign Protocol, our 3rd release in late 2007.
2008 proved to be a year of dislocation, as some of us had to move away from Japan. That didn't stop our desire to re-group however, and we somehow made it happen, getting back together again in Corpus by early 2009.
Moving this band forward has been an easy task for us from the start. Our writing process moves quickly, and our live shows are tight like a tiger.
The music is driving, mathematically conceptualized, and written with shifting dynamics that keep the listener guessing. Unpredictable but satisfying, that about says it.
We’re all incredibly motivated, and work well together. No drugs, no drama, no BS - just hard work and love of the craft.
