Just put on a good movie, pour a couple Jack-n-Cokes, find a comfortable spot, and maybe....just maybe we'll be able to unravel the mystery surrounding Mercury in the Summer. Okay, so there's really no mystery. They probably couldn't really tell you where the name comes from, other than saying, "Think about it. Mercury in the Summer, it's hot..."
It started off with two brothers who grew up in Hudson County, NJ and ended up somehow moving to Northeast PA. A short visit through Marine Bootcamp, Auto-tech school, and culinary school yielded a yearning for something more. After a few jam sessions and some crude recordings, they enlisted a 3 more people and began playing shows.
Fast forward through fifty-something shows, more than a few member changes, and moving back to Jersey. These boys are hungry. The music, lyrics, and live show exhibit a passion that's invested upon reaching goals, telling stories, making new friends, and strengthening the already strong bond they all share with each other as band mates, friends, and brothers.
They play an emotionally motivated style that is beautiful as it is brutal, and as fun as it is insightful. They're not the next big fashion trend, nor are they talking about being bigger than the Beatles, Mickey Mouse, or Jesus.
They are Mercury in the Summer: Five regular dudes from Hudson County, NJ who enjoy quoting movies, and just want to do what they love.
