"Mercury to Mars Strike Power Chord With Fans"

Mercury to Mars show strikes power-chord with fans

High-octane performances are building crowds- and a reputation- for this upcoming regional group.

By RINA BELLEW, SDPB

SIOUX FALLS, SD – Guitarist Josh Heisel heaves his Peavey Wolfgang up like an assault rifle and begins firing at fans. The crowd eats up the antics, along with the warp speed finger-tapping display Heisel performed seconds earlier.

Mercury to Mars’ engaging stage show has been reeling in fans from across the Midwest. Sioux City resident Andie Minor traveled over 80 miles to see the four-man band play at the Sioux Falls Ribfest Festival. “Mercury to Mars is always worth the trip for my friends and I—their stage show is amazing every single time.”

The Band’s got game

There’s more to a Mercury to Mars performance than just a manic stage show- the group provides a solid musical performance too. M2M’s Ribfest concert was videotaped by South Dakota Public Broadcasting for an upcoming episode of their music program No Cover, No Minimum. “There is top quality musicianship in this band,” said No Cover producer Kevin Patten. “It's always refreshing seeing a hard working band doing original music. M2M played a very energetic set at Ribfest and put on a rockin' show for the crowd. Very creative and thought provoking song writing and an energetic stage presence is what separates this group from other local bands.”

Mercury to Mars frontman Rob Heisel and brother Josh Heisel sing rock harmonies with the unique blended tone that only siblings seem to pull off.
“From frontman Rob's powerful delivery, to Josh's lead guitar virtuosity and Jeremy and Jason's solid backbone, this band delivers the goods,” says No Cover producer Kevin Patten.

Rob Heisel pens most of the band’s lyrics and delivers them with the intensity of revealing a deep, dark secret to the crowd. Josh Heisel accompanies Rob’s powerful delivery with frenzied yet exacting guitar parts that supply the octane needed to carry the songs. Drummer Jason Dunn adds creatively ferocious drumbeats that get the crowd moving. Jeremy TeGrotenhius, also known as “The Beav”, manages to hold all these hectic parts together with his steady work on bass.

Fans of high-energy, intense rock shows should not miss Mercury to Mars.
