Mercy Jones Band

The concept of the Mercy Jones Band was to put together players with excellent musicianship to cover some of the greatest r&b and blues vocalists from the 50's through today. It took a while to get the right folks together but now we've done it and we're having a great time together. We cover the originals like, Big Mama Thornton, Big Maybelle, Ruth Brown, Etta James, Aretha Franklin but also contemporary greats like Chaka Khan, Amy Winehouse, Macy Gray, Susan Tedeschi, and India Arie. We also play Stevie Wonder, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jonny Lang. We're far from the run-of-the-mill cover band. We bring an exuberance and vitality and our own sound to some outstanding music.
