LA-based singer / songwriter / producer. Pioneering “urban country” — country music set to urban beats.
Originally from Ottawa, Canada, Merek earned a Bachelor of Music from Carleton University. He went on to open for well-known Canadian acts such as Mia Martina and Massari. He has collaborated on projects with various producers, including Darryl Swann (Black Eyed Peas, Macy Gray) and Derek Brin (Ne-Yo, Robyn). His music has been featured on both local and national radio stations, and has been used in theatrical and film productions alike.
Since arriving in LA, Merek has studied under some of the most influential people in the music industry as part of the Music Business program at UCLA. He is hard at work putting together tracks for his debut “urban country” album, and is excited to share this brand new style with the world!
