Bio
Merge was formed by three former members of Opie's Dream (1998 Detroit Music Award nominee): Pete Costantino (bass/vocals), Rick Hren (drums/vocals), and Bruce Karry (keyboards/harmonica/vocals).Wayne State University music major Justin Sobczynski (lead guitar), vocalist/sax man Joe Nagrant (formerly of The Fabulous Fez Heads and Mid-Life Crisis) and Lisa Porter (former lead vocalist of Semi 7) round out this dynamic group of musicians.
These Motor City music veterans have performed with the likes of Mark Farner (Grand Funk Railroad), Steve King (Eminem) and Jeff Berlin (Yes, Van Halen, Pat Metheny) just to name a few.
The joy they feel while performing spills over to their audience. They have fun and so have the thousands of people they've performed for at countless fairs, festivals and other venues. The Merge playlist features hits from the 1950's to today. They have a wealth of experience to draw on and it shows ! So get your motor runnin', head out on the highway and MERGE!!!
