"A Hit Or Miss Situation"

"I heard a lot of buzz about Meridian Drive among my friends who are scattered throughout the Queens area, and when I saw the synthesizer being set up, I had my doubts. I began to think that this was a Motion City Soundtrack-like band with a few lyrics being changed. I took a look at the EP I had just bought for three dollars, and thought "oh no", with song titles such as, "Sophomore Year Revisited" and "I'll Let You Be My Navigator" raising my doubts further. My doubts were proven wrong. The band perfectly balanced pop and rock, doing what they did much better than Simple Plan or Good Charlotte, and their lyrics had some meaning. They had a stage (or bowling lane) presence that is unprecedented in any other local show I've been to, and they were the best band of the night!" - Meagan Chen/ The Horizon (BHS Newpaper)

"About Meridian Drive"

"The intimate concerts are always a blast! Meridian Drive is great fun." - Last.fm

"Meridian Drive: When The Streetlights Come Back On EP Review"

"You feel as though both artist and producer (Rob Guariglia) have been reincarnated for a symbiotic aural orgasm to be shot onto fans of Spitalfield, Relient K, and The Starting Line... Rarely has a demo/EP been released that really is an inclination of what a band is capable of and sounded as though they're getting their feet wet for a major...

"Singer Paul Morisi launches into soft and intricate scene-painting verses before bringing the rock with a properly intonated chorus... the melody is light-hearted enough to get even the most resistant listener to bounce his head up and down with the notes. As we launch into the chorus, the guitars come into full effect, with the drums right behind and a real vocal climax, before retreating and doing it all over again. By the second chorus the movement in your head will be down to your shoulder and waist...

"For a band that refers to itself as M-Dizzle and is proud to be from the barren Queens, NY scene, they take the suburbia out of mall-core music and puts it back in the city where it should be co-mingling..." - Wrankmusic.com

"Bands Do Battle In Forest Park"

"Like a breath of fresh air, Meridian Drive shot a jolt of energy into the night with their punk-influenced rock. Though boys on a stage of men, Meridian Drive offered the most satisfying performance of the night..."
- Jeff Feinman/The Queens Tribune

"On Stage: Spotlight Concert Series"

"The next band... Meridian Drive brought things back to the emo pop-punk theme. Meridian Drive , who are out of Queens, NY, are tight and they look sure of themselves on stage, probably due to a lot of experience with other area emo bands like As Tall As Lions, Last Week, and Patent Pending. These guys have their sing-along emo down pat... and will probably wind up on Victory Records one of these days" - The Inside Connection Magazine (Long Island)

Bio

Hailing from Queens, NY, Meridian Drive is an ambitous young band who exploded onto the scene with their unique blend of emotionally driven pop-punk-powered indie rock back in late 2004.

This young, talented, and hardworking band has shared a lot of success in the local scene thus far, sharing the same stage with acts on major independent labels such as Drive-Thru Records, Triple Crown, Fueled By Ramen, and Maverick (Halifax, Hellogoodbye, City Sleeps, Jenoah, As Tall As Lions, My American Heart, This Providence, Slow Coming Day, The Underwater, High School Football Heroes, Last Week, Wired, Patent Pending and more) at some of New York City's marquee venues such as The Knitting Factory main stage and The Continental. The band has quickly become the local favorite and gained many loyal fans all over the NYC/Long Island area as well as in Massachussets, New Jersey, and New Hampshire thanks to their extensive tour schedule.

Most recently the boys of Meridian Drive released their newest cd "When The Streetlights Come Back On", an engaging EP containing three anthems of infectious sing-along pop rock produced by The Veronica's guitarist Rob Guariglia (producer of SGT, Wired, The Fad), one of the top sought after rock producers in Long Island. Thanks to myspace.com the cd currently has over 100,000 plays and counting and has been praised by fans all over the United States and Canada (the band frequently mails out cds to fans willing to promote Meridian Drive all across the country).

Meridian Drive has also been selected as one of the top 10 finalists out of over 300 submissions by Drive-Thru Records and MTV for MTVu's "Best Music On Campus" Contest and was a potential contender in a national voting contest for a record deal with Drive-Thru Records!

Meridian Drive has also played many benefit concert to raise money for schools, AIDs awareness, Cancer awareness (Relay for Life), and many functions to help the Hurricaine Katrina victims.

Additionally, the band has also been ranked as one of the top 5 local unsigned artists by New York City's 95.5FM WPLJ and received radio airplay for "Sophomore Year Revisited", in addition to being rewarded the opportunity to open up for Bon Jovi at the 10,000 seat Mohegan Sun Arena in the WPLJ Opening Act Contest. Their contagious melodies have also ranked in on not one but two "Top 100 Most Requested" spots on 104.5 Los Angeles Radio, the country's #1 independent radio station!

Meridian Drive is also featured in the Epitone Records Holiday Sampler and in addition to currently touring, is in the process of writing new material for their hugely anticipated debut full length cd due in the spring of 2006.

Meridian Drive performs their wildly original three minute sing-along pop-gems influenced by bands such as Spitalfield, Sherwood, Mae, This Day And Age, Cartel, The Starting Line, Relient K, Houston Calls, This Providence, Copeland, Fall Out Boy, The Click Five, and Motion City Soundtrack.

Above all Meridian Drive has a love and a passion for performing live shows, producing great rock songs, and making new friends all while revitalizing the music scene. They are definitely a promising band to keep an eye out for coming out of the Queens area and into a city near you! Just listen to the tunes and we guarantee you'll be hooked!
