BandRockPop

Building their sound around more than just a catchy hook line, they have carefully modeled their songwriting after something to be much more resonating. Through extensive studio sessions, they have further defined their sound, showcased in their debut EP "The Sun Forgets".

Biography

meridianwest was formed during the summer of 2004 in Oklahoma, by Mark Gibson (vocals/guitar) and drummer David Kittredge. Despite being unable to find other members that fit their sound, meridianwest played as a two piece for live shows. They felt as if it was more reasonable to start on an EP instead of waiting for the right bass player. In the studio, producer/bassist Luke Haney contributed the bass tracks for their debut EP "The Sun Forgets." meridianwest recorded a five song EP that they felt best represented the attitude of their sound and style. Now that the EP is completed, they have set their base in Austin, TX and added bassist Ryan Magnani. The faces of their songs have now matured further due to the influence of Ryan. Next they will capture the energy and emotion of their live shows when they record their debut LP in early 2006. Not focusing on one emotion, their music is more the soundtrack of our lives. Rock has always been a characteristic or a way of life for them. Their live show is one to be admired for many years to come. meridianwest prides themselves on leaving their fans all that they have come to know and feel through there music.

Lyrics

Arcadia

Written By: meridianwest

lose your fears in the waves for awhile
step onto my shoreline
take it all until you won’t go away
I need this hope of mine
the sun forgets but the moon and stars reflect

I was running down with you
through the house of dreams and
the cold avenue
I was running down with you
I can see your eyes cause
you were lonely too

the late may sky holds on for awhile
smashes into purples
counting all the sails that pass me by
none of them resemble
the sun forgets but the moon and stars reflect

I was running down with you
through the house of dreams and
the cold avenue
I was running down with you
I can see your eyes cause
you were lonely too

you act like you never wanted it
but I was just what you needed

Arcadia… january storms
Arcadia… bring morning truths
Arcadia… we were never there
Arcadia… and I always knew

I was running down with you
through the house of dreams and
the cold avenue
I was running down with you
I can see your eyes cause
you were lonely too

Who We Are

Written By: meridianwest

I spend my time
in and out of dreams
consciousness, makes a fool out of me
auto-set the limits I can be
and watch them on T.V.

we don’t know, who we are
maybe that’s why we like to pretend
we can’t see, very far
everything else we don’t believe in

I count the days
That I leave behind
deja' vu, makes them all intertwined
The moments that I feel I can escape
Adapt and change their shape

we don’t know, who we are
maybe that’s why we like to pretend
we can’t see, very far
everything else we don’t believe in, in, in...

feel your eyes bend the light
see your hands grab the night
and hear your soul ignite

we don’t know, who we are
maybe that’s why we like to pretend

we can’t see, very far
everything else we don’t believe in
we don’t know…
who we are…
we don’t know
who we are
who we are

Down

Written By: meridianwest

maybe life only flashes
moments of happiness
but it's worth the confusion
that melts from the sadness

too many outlets for us
to vent our tired hearts
like a breeze they can feel
so lifting but it’s where it starts

Down, Down
Down, Down

your face and all you are
leaves with no trace
cause your so far… yeah

the spiral that you’ve chosen
makes soundwaves amplify
black amber would be the color
if our tears drenched the sky

Down, Down
Down, Down

your face and all you are
leaves with no trace
cause your so far… yeah

Down, Down
Down, Down
