Nate Allen finally listened to what other people and his heart had been telling him for years: Rap.
Frank Scott is finally doing something he knew he would do all along: Make an album.
The two joined forces to become, Incorruptible Alliance, a Christian hip hop duo, and they're releasing their first E.P. Incorruptible on June 6, spreading the message of living an incorruptible life through Jesus Christ.
It's a CD anyone can listen to since it's profanity-free, doesn't promote alcohol use, drugs, sex before marriage, or any other immoral or vulgar things found in most secular music.
"The music itself is really the hook," said Allen, 28, also known as Merse on stage. "It's the message in between the lines. We want that lifestyle to be an example. Psalm 101 is a road map for lifestyle. You'll find that woven throughout our music."
Even without an official album out on the streets, the songs Dreams and Escape were in the top 10 in the Christian rap charts on Soundclick.com
Merging rap and the gospel might seem like an unholy combination to some, but for Incorruptible Alliance it's the perfect vehicle to spread their message of Christ's love.
"We believe the time and season is right now, and we're not missing any opportunity to expand the Kingdom of God," said Scott, 25, who performs as FS2.
What Incorruptible Alliance is preaching, they're living. Merse and FS2 abstained from sex until marriage (both are), don't cuss, smoke, drink or use drugs. Living an incorruptible life wasn't always easy, especially as teens, they said.
"Once I grasped the mindset who I was living my life for and why, the easier it became," FS2 said.
Based on I Peter 1:23, Incorruptible Alliance is all about being good role models for Christians and non-Christians, hoping to inspire those who already know Christ to live a godly life and those who don't to become a Christian.
"We want to challenge people to live the lifestyle incorruptible," Merse said. "You can live a life of moral excellence and still have fun."
Both Merse and FS2 feel their lyrics are directed by the Holy Spirit of God, an unseen third member of the group. Lyrics written without the power of the Holy Spirit don't feel right.
"We feel like the Holy Spirit is behind the lyrics, and if he's not we tend to not even like it," Merse said.

This is the scripture that Merse’s teenage eyes landed upon one seemingly fateful evening during a prayer service at his church. In a somewhat surreal moment, it was as if God had delivered to Merse a similar call that he had delivered thousands of years before to the prophet Ezekiel. Could it be that this young, quiet, and somewhat introvert youth was being called to deliver God’s powerful, and sometimes abrasive message to His people? Anyone who knew Merse then would consider this laughable. Anyone who knows him now would not question the validity of this story.
Many years have passed since that powerful evening. During that time, Merse has been training, learning, and developing his skills. Because of this dedication to study and perfection, this emcee/artist/author/public speaker has developed a powerfully dynamic and unique style that is easily detected in every one of his songs. His passion for God and love for learning about the world around him has resulted in a unique style that many consider packed with just as much intellect as spirituality. While many of his songs carry the abrasive nature that his call demands, everyone tends to agree that every song is saturated with a heartfelt desire to inspire!
It was this desire to inspire, and obedience to God, that led Merse to recently found The Incorruptible Alliance, a collection of individual artists under the umbrella of Incorruptible Records. Merse feels that most of the mainstream media of today is loaded with material and concepts that lead to the corruption of the minds of God’s people. Incorruptible Records, and each one of one of its artists, are committed to giving the youth not only an alternative in music alone but also in role model to follow.
Merse believes that everyone should and can make a commitment to be Incorruptible. He now believes that he fulfills his original call by showing others that being Incorruptible should be the goal of every believer. Through his music, books, and speaking engagements, Merse not only teaches that being Incorruptible is possible, but also gives people the tools to accomplish this!
