"Mersey- The British Rock Invasion show"

Mersey: The British Rock Invasion show, created by Dan Traynor of Broomall and his son, Luke, a seventh-grader at Paxon Hollow Middle School, was performed Jan. 20-21 at the Media Theatre.

Mersey told the story of the British Rock music invasion as told by Englishman, Brian Smith who witnessed the musical invasion first-hand.

Actors Gary Dean, JT Grosch, Donna DeGregorio, Bianca Logsdon and Nicole Amey The Mersey Band dressed in period costume and sang classic hits. Broomall's Tom Stanton performed a crowd-pleasing solo during "My Generation."

Springfield's Michael Marrone performed a show-stopping conga drumming dueled with Scott Grande's drumming during the Yardbird's "For Your Love." Newtown Square's Ronnie Mayer sang The Zombies "She's Not There."

The variety of great acts and entertainers didn't stop when Paul Snyder of Springfield received a standing ovation for his powerful vocal performance of The Animals "We Got to get Out of this Place."

Mersey’s three shows at the Media Theatre were emceed by Marilou Regan, author of the Rolling Stones Book "Love You Live: Fanfare for the Common Man", radio personality Steve Trevelese and World Wide Stereo's Bob Cole.

The Mersey benefit show was supported by Luxury Limousine Service who drove the Mersey cast to the show in a white fourteen passenger Hummer H2 limousine to a red carpet event.

The event raised money and awareness for PA Breast Cancer Coalition. - http://www.delconewsnetwork.com/articles/2012/01/31/marple_newtown_county_press/news/doc4f2840bc5a50
