Mesmer Tea is an experiment in musical collage, pasting together disparate styles from dream pop and 90’s alternative, to prog rock and R&B. Formed in 2014 in Nashville, Mesmer Tea have dazzled crowds across the Southeast with their cerebral live experience and elusive musical style. More psych than rock, more rhythm than blues, they deliberately shy away from the micro-genres of today by sounding like everything at once. Led by singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and openly gay 29-year-old Andrew Locke, Mesmer Tea is anti-nostalgia, insisting on giving you music you have not heard before. The 5-piece act has announced their debut album, An Felt Elephant, with an accompanying band-created RPG video game set in present-day East Nashville, and both are set to be released January 2017, kicking off a year of touring, festival appearances, and more recording.
