"MESTA | Bez Dna Tajni | EP review | 29/11/2008 |"

(...) MESTA is an intimate project of Borislav and Senka from Belgrade. Their sound could be referred to slow-down alt-rock (with associations to post-rock, ambient, drone and neo-folk). The sounds and words are interwoven together into an emotional and fragile expression. Expression of stillness. Vocals are quiet, sensitive and dreamy and blended with the minimal style of acoustic guitar. MESTA invites you to give yourself away to a moment of stillness and simplicity. Our recommendation – to listen when alone. (...) || by Horvi - www.terapija.net

"MESTA | live in Belgrade | 20. November 2009. |"

(...) It was all minimal audio-visual performance, but just wonderful. Their songs are very pieces of silence. Silence turning into words coming from hidden chambers of heart. All the time, Borislav and Senka were static, but their music was reaching both contemplation and catharsis… Their music is related to mostly American slowcore and post-rock sound, associated with Low, but also with the alt-country poetics of David Eugene Edwards (…) || by Nikola Urosevic - www.dobrevibracije.org

Bio

MESTA
A minimal acoustic alt-folk band conceived in winter of 2007 in a cold apartment in Belgrade, Serbia when Borislav and Senka joined their voices together. Their music is quiet, slow and intimate as if it were a soundscape of echolocating God by singing in a desert night. The music is related to slowcore bands like Low and Spokane, but also to Wovenhand.
In 2009. they have self-released an EP called 'Bez Dna Tajni’ (No End To Mysteries). They are now finishing their debut album.
