"Metal Goddess"

This new band set the place rocking last night at the Bulldog Cafe, Mexico City's primo rock venue. 3000 teenagers rocked out with 50 young pierced black clad boys bowing in unison in a semicircle in front of Emma, the blonde bombshell guitarist. Isaac, the frontman, got everyone out there screaming out their adolescent angst. It won't be the last we see of Mexico's latest addition to the Latino Metal arsenal. - Reforma Mexico City

Bio

A contemporary feel to classic metal. This band formed in Mexico City with influences from Sepultura, Metallica, and Pantera. After winning a Battle of the Bands at the Universidad Tecnologica out of 80 entrants, Metal Goddess (named after the spectacularly beautiful guitarist, Emma Torres) began successful gigs throughout the Mexico City area culminating in a spot opening for Sepultura in 2007. The lead singer, Isaac, a Mexican who lived in San Diego until the age of 9, sings in accent free English and works the crowd up in Spanish. Pairing his strong hoarse vocals and crowd pleasing charisma with Emma's wailing guitar, blonde headbanging, and wild onstage presence, this is a band that gets a young predominately male audience very engaged.
