"The "Soundguy" reviews Metro Blues"

Beale Street, move over. I've been in the blues bars on Beale Street in Memphis, Market Street in St. Louis, and Troost Avenue in Kansas City, and I've never heard finer blues than I did at The Wayfarer Friday Night.

I was treated to a show by Metro Blues there, along with other blues lovers and friends. I had heard about them, read about them, and visited their website, but this was my first show to see. All forms of blues (and even one really cool surf music number), are truly these gentlemen's calling. I was taken back to the smoke-filled rooms of all those blues Mecca's with every song they did. Wonderful. I especially loved it when they did "Nasty Habits" my all-time favorite Tommy Castro number, They nailed it to a "T". Also among my favorites was the immortal "Texas Flood". Great dynamics and transitions on that one guys.

If you love blues, and I know you do, you MUST experience Metro Blues. You haven't felt the blues till you've seen these great performers.

Metro Blues gets a resounding 4 star rating from the Soundguy.

Great job, gentlemen. Thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable evening of blues.

"Kind Words From A Fan"

Hi Guys, I just wanted to say thank you so much for being such an awesome band! I saw you at Navajo Hogan on a Saturday night and I loved every minute of your performance. It was my first time hearing you and I am thrilled! My friend was in town from Nebraska and she is a big blues fan. I saw your website and decided it would be fun to check you out. Needless to say, she thinks I am the best friend in the world for picking such a great band to go see. I love your original songs. Cover tunes are nice, but to me the true heart and soul of a band is in its originals, and you guys have a great heart and soul. Thank you George for your high energy...singing, guitar and sax! Is there anything you can't do?! Calvin, guitar is my love and you made it soooo pleasurable!!! Plus you have that perfect blues singer voice. Wow! Art, you definitely enjoy the drums, it was so nice to see you smiling back there. John you were blazing on the keyboards, and we were lucky enough to be sitting on that side of the room and got to watch your fingers flying! Steve sure can make that bass thump, next time I am sitting were I can see more of you and that smile. I will be back to see you again soon, I promise. Kathy - Metro Blues website
