Bio

Bio
'Miaoux Miaoux is Glasgow producer Julian Corrie, who makes hypercolour electronic pop that recalls the best of artists like Matthew Dear, Caribou, Four Tet, and Arthur Russel. Signing to the renowned Chemikal Underground Records in January 2012, the album 'Light of the North' followed in June to widespread acclaim, described as "gloriously melodic dance-pop genius" (The List) and “stunning sonic collages” (Line Of Best Fit). Live, Miaoux Miaoux is an exercise in ambidextrous, pedal-hopping wonderment, building huge electro / guitar fused soundscapes underneath delicate vocal melodies. Recent remixes for disco producer LINDSTROM, BELLE AND SEBASTIAN, as well as band of the moment CHVRCHES, who he supported in November at Elektrowerkz, have taken the blogs by storm, not to mention his nomination for The SAY award, pointing to a promising future for this young beatsmith.
Miaoux Miaoux's latest release, the 'Autopilot EP', collects remixes from the likes of Auntie Flo and Esa, Tom Furse from The Horrors, Echo Park and Discopolis, and is out now on vinyl and digital.'
Most recent live press -
‘an utterly contemporary and often thrilling set by a modern techno-pop auteur.’
Independent (Online and print)

‘ it's hard not to be encapsulated by his graceful movement, from synth to keyboard to FX pedals even at one point bounding off stage to retrieve a capo.’
Scottish Fiction
‘Kicking off with an instrumental version of the giddy Sweep Clean, the opening track to his Light Of The North album, this is my kind of dance party’
The Herald
‘Miaoux Miaoux. Good move. It was the highlight of day. An electric set formed from last year’s Light of the North album. The room, packed all day, was bursting at the sides as the crowd jostled for dancing position. The atmosphere peaked during a heavy version of ‘Stop the Clocks’ and didn’t let up until the crowd, dripped with sweat, began to move out.’

Currently
He recently formed a three piece along with Liam Chapman and Liam Graham, which has proven to be a much higher impact show. Encores were the closing sounds for the summer, when they played at Brew at The Bog, Big Beach Ball, Insider Festival and The Wee Chill.

New single just completed, expect this cat to roar with something a little more bass heavy in 2013.
