Bio

Mia Palencia is an upcoming Malaysian songwriter who is contracted with Warner Chappell, Hong Kong. Some of her songs are successfully recorded by famous Taiwan artistes, the likes of Harlem Yu and Garden Sisters in the Chinese language. One of her song ?She Says? is a theme song for a series in Taiwan, ?Tokyo Juliet? as a sound track.

Mia Palencia released her first single ?Sayang? on the 2nd of September, 2006 and is scheduled to release her full Album ?Finding My Way? in the first half of 2007. She is a member of Malaysia?s local famous duo ?Double Take? and has recorded two albums known as One Voice, 6 Strings, Twelve Moods; and One Voice, Six Strings, Twelve Days of Christmas. Mia Palencia?s original work is also found in both albums. What seems credible and worthy about Double Take in the local music scene is that both Double Take as artistes and their albums have been reviewed by an American music writer and critic, Jim Trageser, who lives in San Diego, California. These articles may be read at www.turbula.net from the Fall 2003 issue and also published the North County Times, San Diego, in December 2005 alongside reviews of world renowned jazz musician such as Diana Krall. As a songwriter and musician, it is of relative importance to have the substance of American appeal, gaining exposure, and presence in their marketplace.

Mia gives private vocal coaching and loves working particularly with children.

Mia as a 23 year old songwriter musician is actively on the look out for ways to help improve the present status quo of Malaysia?s performing arts scene. She believes there is an abundance of local aspiring talents impatiently waiting for the right opportunity to grow and develop into successful artistes. She is also aware that there is an urgent need in Malaysia to build upon a source of inspiration to preserve and perhaps protect such heritage. She aspires to be instrumental to the growth and development of Malaysia?s local music industry.
