Bio

Micah Estes was born and raised in the rolling hills north of Nashville, better known as Hendersonville, Tennessee. He joins a list of music greats like Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty, Lorrie Morgan and many others who have called this part of the country home. It is in these hills that he first got inspired to sing.

Micah is first generation "country," with a family history of sweat and hard work. His roots run deep in Americana, with a family farm on his grandfather's side and a Great Grandmother who was full-blooded Cherokee Indian. He also comes from a "strong" family background; both his father and uncle were "Mr. Tennessee" (bodybuilders) -- his uncle Charles Estes held the title multiple times.

As a child, Micah spent most of his time chasing rabbits and deer in the woods, and chasing dust on the back roads; he had an unquenchable love for 4-wheelin' and drag-racing. And when he wasn't flying along at high speeds in something with wheels, he was ridin' hard on horseback. Micah always had to find some way of kickin' up dust.

Although he picked up barbells long before he picked up a guitar, Micah's musical roots go back to his earlier years. Micah's first memories of country crooners were of Merle Haggard, George Jones and Gene Watson playing on a traditional country radio station. He knew he wanted to sing when he heard Merle's unmatched "Mama Tried." It's still one of his favorite songs.

Along those lines, Micah's voice is from a bygone era. His style could be described as pure traditional country; when he sings, he'll make you wonder if he is blood-related to the "Hag" himself. He has closely followed the careers of George Strait and Alan Jackson, and finally decided to pursue this truly God-given gift for singing back in about 1998. Up until then, no one else in the family had ever considered music as a career, even though it seems singing runs in this clan. Micah's sister Erin is following close behind her big brother's footsteps, beltin' them out at karaoke nights.

Living a true workin' man's life, Micah drove an 18-wheeler for 3 years, he's worked as a landscaper--mowing lawns and bush-hoggin' fields, he spent more time under hoods and revving engines as an auto-mechanic, and when he's not pickin' and singing, he can be found swinging a hammer as a construction superintendent.

Micah calls Ridgetop, Tennessee home now. Ridgetop is just a little further into the hills north of Hendersonville, and is complete with a part-time Mayor, part-time Police Chief, and volunteer fire department. They say if you blink you'll miss it, but not as long as they've got Micah Estes kickin' up the dust!
