Mica

Hailing from Atlanta, Mica is a passionate singer, worship leader, and songwriter. Her music crosses boundaries and introduces a fresh vibe in the Christian Contemporary Music scene. With radio airplay and positive reviews from critics she has been quickly gaining popularity and gaining fans worldwide. She is an artist that is unafraid to be vulnerable and transparent when writing her experiences. Her lyrics are heartfelt because they are her own words, her voice is unique as she sings intimate praises to God. As you listen and spend time with her you realize she actually lives the life of the music she sings. She has performed on WATC Atlanta Live, What’s Your Story with Kenneth Morgan, led choirs at the State Youth Convention for the Church of God, and continues to serve in various ministries. Her debut single “Come With Me” has already become a favorite among listeners, and her fan base is growing daily.

A born worship leader, Mica has been singing since the age of 5. Her love of singing was further cultivated when she attended the North Atlanta High School for the Performing Arts and joined their gospel choir. ”When I’m singing, it’s as though I’m in the presence of God and I want to invite others into that worship experience through the songs I sing”. As a writer Mica has penned songs on award winning albums for Kingdom Harmony, Lolita Coby, Marlo Moore, Byron Timothy and Psalms Of Praise Recordings. She then decided that it was time for her to release songs that God had placed on her heart. “I am inspired to write songs for others who may have the voice to sing but not the words. That’s where I come in, to help fill in the blank”.

Through her record label Psalms of Praise Recordings, Mica’s debut album “The Heart Of God” was released in May 15th, 2011. The project was formed by the collective efforts of producers Bruce Hannibal, Micah Dobbins, Takiya, Superboy, and Sean Hill. The project has mid-tempo acoustic songs like “Come With Me” and “Ready To Go” to praise and worship songs “Lost Without You” and “Tears Of Joy”. Along with her husband she wrote all of the songs on her album except for “Sing For You” by Sean Hill and her rendition of “Down At The Cross”. She was able to record the entire project in one week with Uphill Studio and mastered by Sean Hill. Through her music Mica hopes to inspire others. “When I’m singing on stage, it’s not just a stage it’s a platform that allows me to share my love of Jesus Christ with others.”
