After serving his country by playing in the United States Air Force Band, Rick stayed in Los Angles and played about 250 gigs a year for more than a decade. He played jazz, fusion and funk at the clubs at night and by day he was lucky enough to play on several records and movie soundtracks. While in LA he studied with drummers such as Dave Garibaldi (Tower Of Power) and Gregg Bissonette (studio great) and recorded with such notables as Abe Laboriel, Brandon Fields and Roland Katandig. Since moving back to New England, Rick still enjoys playing as many gigs as possible. Besides being the drummer for Groove Train, he also plays drums for blues legend Mighty Sam McClain.
