"michael brondstetter invites you to “cherish time”"

Californian singer-songwriter Michael Brondstetter has just released a brand new track, “Cherish Time,” off his upcoming EP Change Your Mind, out on April 27. Change Your Mind follows Brondstetter’s debut 2017 EP, Iron Mountain. His new single, “Cherish Time” brings the listener back into his Americana-folk-rock soundscape. Woven across heartfelt vocals and instrumentation, the track sums up its title perfectly. Filled with nostalgia and familiarity, “Cherish Time” will fill your heart and soul with good things.

Says Brondstetter of his new track,

I wrote “Cherish Time” at a time in my life when there was a whole lot of change going on. I just looked around at things a thought to myself, enjoy this moment because it won’t come back around again. Recording the song was like walking into a whole new world for me. Tom Freund really brought a lot to the table in his playing and production concepts. Working with Chris and Eleanor was a true blessing. They are so talented and inspiring. Having their participation and input, was invaluable. Everyone did a magnificent job getting to the songs soul.

Bio

Michael Brondstetter follows in the tradition of iconic California singer-songwriters like Jackson Browne and David Crosby to create music that gets back to the original roots that blend folk, pop and rock influences.

Michael’s universal appeal certainly would speak to fans of Chris Stapleton to Jack Johnson. The San Diego-based songster’s music is redolent of his upbringing: Born in Michigan and living in Louisville and New Orleans he absorbed local culture, while listening to his folks’ Big Band Music, Motown and classical. His family relocated to Los Angeles, and in high school and beyond, Michael cut his teeth in varied lineups, initially on bass, learning the catalogs Pete Seeger, The Byrds and CCR, stretching as far as the soul and funk of Rare Earth, the Temptations, and Ike & Tina Turner. Hanging at L.A.’s legendary McCabe’s guitar shop, he rubbed elbows with the likes of Linda Ronstadt, Hoyt Axton, & Doc Watson.

Those influences coalesce in something that’s wholly original, and very California, encompassing the state’s light and shade in its emotional impact. As PlayBuzz said of Iron Mountain: “It’s an Americana amalgam of Folk and Blues roots that’s permeated with a strong Country and Western twang.” Michael explains: “The emergence of Los Angeles as a cultural center after WWII, where movie and music industry’s growth culminated in the 1960’s, and has been ongoing ever since. It’s the surf music of the late 50’s to, up North, Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead, then Buck Owens and the Bakersfield sound, and Latin music like Los Lobos as well as West Coast jazz.”
