Still working on that hot first release.

Michael Mercury is inviting the world to listen as he makes his splash on the music scene. Mercury is hitting his fans with a unique sound unlike any other, said to have the right now voice by Chuck Tennin of Big Fish Music. A sound that has been perfected through the years and is now ready to take the world by storm.

Mercury's journey began in Houston, Texas. Michael Lee Kaufman grew up in a family of music lovers, where he began making music at a young age and performed in various musical venues in his hometown. He graduated from high school and moved to Los Angeles, to pursue a musical career.

Along the way, Mercury has fronted several bands and with the help of music producer, Brighton Stone, they formed a production company, The New Affect where they produced and wrote songs for other artists including Karaoke USA winner Josh Scholl. After a stint with indie label American Voodoo Records, He realized he was still missing one thing.. his sound. He and Brighton had written many solid records together but at the end of the day a sound to call his own was missing.

After being approached by music manager, Jeff Johnson of L Crown Music, he formulated a plan to identify his sound and approach to the music industry as an emerging new artist. The plan consists of 3 simple fazes that will continue to cycle on repeat even after the beginning goals are met. The first part of the plan pushed Mercury to write as many songs as possible in a short period of time in many different genres and see what feels the best. It worked!! Mercury had tracks he had written with Brighton Stone, as well as some new tracks like "Pull The Trigger" (on the EP) from producer Pilfinger, of Universal Music Group that helped create his sonic foundation. Anyone can get lucky and write a good song if they write enough, but to consistently write songs with a particular feel.. thats longevity said Mercury. "that way the creative and commercial components continue to thrive overtime regardless of the trends in popular music."

Armed and ready with his new sound, the journey continues to take Mercury to exciting places. His first EP, "Me You Us Them" (Produced & mixed by Brighton Stone at Backhouse Studios), consists of 6 tracks, the concept behind the EP is simple; invite the world to listen. says Mercury.

All of the passion, dedication, perseverance and tenacity that Michael possesses are the things that will inevitably seal his success in the music industry. We can't wait to hear whats next!
