"Michael Spain"

Michael Spain is a name that many may not know yet, but this Nashville resident-musician
is making his presence felt with his brand new EP, xXx. Spain’s new release is a blend of
the pop, rock, folk, and singer-songwriter genres that offers an emotional yet, confident
sound that will appeal to the fans of artists like Justin Nozuka and Mat Kearney. There’s
no shortage of relatable material coming from Michael Spain’s music, and I like the EP’s
overall structure.

xXx EP is a five (5) track release that boldly states what was on the artist’s mind at the
time he was recording the project. As a fan of singer-songwriters, my favorite track is Just
Another Song. The simplicity is what I like most. The combination of a solo vocal track,
acoustic guitar, subtle piano and egg shaker emits a live performance feel that really puts
you into an almost trance-like state where you’re grooving to the melodies and feeling
every note. The musicianship, vocals, and songwriting are very well done, and I think any
fan of singer-songwriter tunes will connect with and enjoy this song.

Even though Just Another Song stood out as my favorite, I still liked the other tracks on
this EP and I think Michael Spain is off to a very good start in his solo music career. xXx is
a strong fall release that makes me very excited about the year-end 2014 music releases
that we’re going to hear. Check Michael out on his Bandcamp page.

Still working on that hot first release.

Michael Spain was started as a solo project inspired by pop/rock artists and adult contemporary starting from the early 90's to the modern era. The artist name was formed as the result of having heritage from Spain and the love of travel and different countries. Also the artist feels that the phonetic tone of the two words flows well together.

The first all acoustic demo recorded titled 'The Life Inside' was the result of a failed college social life and escapism from the realities of modern society. Michael Spain writes about tragedies and heartbreak , love and desire, but also adds a positive tone to misfortune titling the Demo the "The Life Inside",  which points to a more polished experience of life through creating art as a way to find fulfillment.

After playing many shows in the Local Ann Arbor and surrounding Michigan areas Michael Spain is in the process of recording a new demo with a full band and expanding live performance to more areas of the U.S.
