Bio

Michael Barry was born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland where he played
keyboard and bass guitar in various local bands.

Moving to Toronto in 1992, Michael built his home studio and was hired to score
commercials for broadcast networks TMN, VCC and Global

After years of on-air promotions music, Michael embarked into songwriting in late
2000. The following year, he was awarded the FACTOR Professional Demo
Award for his song 'Love Is Hard'. The song featured Michael composing,
performing, producing and mixing.

Michael combined both musical worlds by scoring and composing the theme song
'Naturally' for the first Canadian high definition short film entitled 'Rubber'.
Produced by The Bendigo Film Co., this film played in HD film festivals globally.

In 2002, Michael was approached by multi-talented producers Soma Sonic to add
vocals to 'Exposure' from the Peter Gabriel tribute album, 'Leaves From The Trees',
featuring world-renowned artists and producers including Jody Wately and
Julee Cruise.

Later that year, the UK's Computer Music Magazine selected Michael's other track,
'Like I Do', as the top reader demo, "We are always pleased to hear accomplished
songwriting and a complementary mix." Computer Music Magazine, November '02.

In 2003, Michael again worked with The Bendigo Film Company by providing the
score and song for the Toronto Fringe Festival theatre production, '$1000 Zombie'.

Presently, after a year of solid songwriting, Michael is producing his debut cd
entitled 'Lifesize' which features 10 songs .
