Bio

Michael Blakemore and the birds are a space-rock band from Oklahoma. Yes...boring Oklahoma. Michael and Nick have played together for over 7 years, and slowly added to the band as time continues. With the lack of a music scene in Oklahoma, the birds started their journey in churches and various venues around the city. They are not afraid to play anything or anywhere for anybody.

The Full band is a very high energy and melodic set. Michaels stage presence is incomparable. He wouldnt even have to move at all and you would still feel his presence. The rest of the band is incredibly fun to watch as well. You really get lost in their music.

With Michael's Solo Acoustic act, he always impresses audiences with his creativity looping various drum beats and bass on his guitar, using loops, and creating 5 part harmonies, all by himself. It really blows your standard acoustic show out of the water. Completely captivating.
Their influence would include a bunch of British bands, such as Bush, Delirious, Snow patrol, muse, keane, athlete, etc.
American influences would be: mutmath, lovedrug, lifehouse, eve 6, ryan adams, the umbrellas, etc.
Canadian influences: Our lady peace, Sarah Mclachlan,

What sets the birds apart??
This is where i could get cocky and try to butter them up...but honestly, you just have to see for yourself!! There are alot of bands out there, that do alot of things very well, but the birds stage presence and tastefulness is unstoppable. Whether its the full band or Michael looping things on his acoustic. you cant beat it!
