Bio

Michael Boguski is that rare breed of piano player, the one who hasn't forgotten that playing the piano is about connecting with the audience. Schooled in the classics, yet profoundly influenced by American roots music, an evening of music with the Michael Boguski Trio is almost like a documentary in the history of American folk music. Swing, rag-time, gospel, and country, the music is always honest, genuine, and delivered straight from the heart.

In addition to his work as a soloist, Michael Boguski is an up and coming session player in the Toronto roots scene. His piano, organ, and accordion playing have been heard on several albums, and when he's not fronting his own trio, his signature b-3 licks and accordion lines can usually be heard as part of the six-piece roots rock ensemble "Revival Dear." Michael has also released two critically acclaimed solo piano albums (2004- VARIATIONS; 2007-INSTRUMENTAL), both of which received positive air play on CBC, and national campus radio. Recent stage and studio appearances in 2006-2007 include: Giorgia Fumanti, Roberto Ochippinti, Revival Dear, Don Kerr, Tim Bovaconti, Sarah Burton, Gary Craig, Burke Carroll, John Switzer, Steve Briggs, Terence Gowan, Rob Pillonen, Derek Downham, Jerry Leger and the Situation, Steve Sinnicks, and Wes Neal.
