Bio
Smooth is the word many use when asked to describe Michael Carey. He never fails to captivate his audiences with his velvet baritone voice and warm personality. From his powerful heartfelt ballads to his energetic toe tapping tunes, Michael's performances provide a delightful and unforgettable experience for all ages.
Michael comes from a long line of musical genes. His family first noticed his musical abilities when at four years of age he was creating and singing his own harmonies to whatever was on the radio. Two years later, he began taking classical voice lessons and competing at a provincial level before turning to country and jazz while learning to play drums,
guitar and bass.
Michael has spent the past few years touring Alberta and Ontario, opening for Randy Bachman, studying, writing, performing, and arranging
music.
When he can, Michael sings for charity. He feels most loyal to children's and senior's charities but also sings for everything in between. He is often honoured for his contribution to building the community through his fundraising and charity work.
Michael's drive and determination to pursue his music has provided him the opportunity to graduate from high school with honours one year early. Whether it be music or academics, Michael's thirst for knowledge is unquenchable.
Recently, Michael's touring has taken him across Canada. He has been a musical guest on the national television shows 'Canada AM' and 'the Vicki Gabereau show', as well as a featured artist on CBC national radio's 'The Roundup' and 'Sounds of Canada'.
Canadian radio stations embraced his debut single which reached the top 30 on national radio charts.
"Michael is always professional and I enjoy working with him. I truly believe he has what it takes to go the distance in this business."...Randy Bachman
