Bio

Raised in the city of Inkster, just miles outside of Detroit Michigan, Michael Chimienti’s interest in the music industry goes back as early as elementary school,
Starting out with an introduction to classical music by his Grandfather in the 3rd grade. Developing a wide variety of interest in the many different genres of music, Michael began to take a liking to hip-hop music probably around early junior high school, and has been hooked on it ever since. By his late high school years to his early 20’s, an interest in the music industry became a dream, and from then on the dream became an obsession. Michael wanted so badly for the opportunity to be heard; and even worse for the chance to record, but never had the means to do so. Surely he had fun playing around with his buddies; rapping over the karaoke machine to the Dangerous Minds beat, but honestly how far could that ever go? It wasn’t until 2003 when Michael had his first opportunity to record in a basement studio when he reunited with an old friend from years ago. From there things seemed to be taking off. Along with a group of his peers they began recording their music and performing at local venues. It was an exciting time. It was an amazing experience and Michael finally got to see firsthand what it felt like to be on stage. He loved it! Nothing felt better. Eventually he learned a bit on his own of how to do his own production; working with other producers and experimenting with music software, now able to record and engineer in his home, but still wasn’t getting the right sound quality that he wanted. The next few years were kind of like Groundhog Day. Music experimentation, working every day, and participating in local shows whenever he had the chance. Over that time Michael and good friend Tyrae Spears had begun working on a project together, the “Logic & Rae” double album, “Hypnotic Radio”, which was released in early 2007, but things were still not taking off the way they were expected to. The need to work and make a living and pay bills always had to take the front seat on what was beginning to become a frustrating journey, and it was time to start focusing on other things. Michael decided to take a break from music and go back to school; he enrolled himself into community college. Over the next couple of years Michael committed himself to his school work, and also trying to learn more about his Christian religion. He met a man also into music, a gospel rapper by the name of Brandon Perry “The Psalmist”, who was conducting bible studies in his basement, which Michael began to take a part of. Focused on his studies, and still playing with music here and there on the side as a hobby, Michael continued to work hard in the factory and basically just going through the motions, trying to better his situation. The dreams of music as a career for a time had slowly faded, and Groundhog Day had taken a new form. It wasn’t until around 2009 when once again the passion for making music would be sparked up again with a monstrous flame. What other than the introduction to a beautiful woman could have once again inspired Michael to start writing! Long time friend Tyrae Spears had brought over a young woman by the name of Melina Chiatalas, a highly talented (and highly attractive) song writer and producer, to collaborate on a music project. Things took off from there in more ways than imaginable. The three of them began working on music together, starting out basically as just having fun. It wasn’t long before Melina became a part of the group, and wasn’t much longer after that when Michael and Melina would start dating. From then on until the present Michael, Tyrae and Melina have begun working on a new project together as a group, with a name still undecided. Over the course of this last year, now inspired once again to take another shot at making a name for himself in the music industry, Michael began working on his new solo project, “The Michael Chimienti Album”, which is now ready for release. Michael’s music is unlike a lot of the mainstream music that is popular with the youth today. Michael could be classified as being a little more “old-school”, but with a unique sound and style unlike anything ever heard before. Michael’s goal for the new album was to make songs that would portray a positive and more serious message, but also showing his humorous side and also his intense lyrical, metaphorical and overall microphone CRUSHING abilities! He wanted to make an album that he could play for a group of his peers and they would accept and enjoy it, and be able to play the same album for his Grandparents, in hopes that they would also accept his message. It has been a long road to get to this point, but Michael Chimienti is now ready to present his music to the world. There obviously is no telling how things will go, but Michael Chimienti is ready to give it his all to fulfill his adolescent dream for the chance to be hea
