Bio

Michael grew up in Southern Ontario with a wide
range of musical interests (including 50’s/60’s rock, Dixieland jazz, 70s funk, soul, alternative, grunge, and new age acoustic). Although he is only in his mid twenties, Michael has played in a number of bands ranging widely in style.
Through his high school years, Michael played lead guitar in a band called the Boneless Catz. What started off as a quartet playing jazz standards soon morphed into a grunge band, an alternative band, and/or a funk band (depending on what the occasion called for). Some of the venues played by the Boneless Catz include the Royal Sonesta Hotel (New Orleans, LA), Wet and Wild theme park (Orlando, FL), After 8 Jazz Club (Oakville, ON), and the King’s Arms (Oakville, ON).
In University, Michael played guitar and sang with a Brantford based funk band called the Emergency Broadcast System (playing Brantford venues such as Poor Folks and Alexander’s Tavern).
For the past two years, Michael has been focused mainly on playing solo acoustic guitar, singing, and songwriting (playing mainly Toronto venues such as the Reverb, Holy Joe's, Free Times Cafe, Renaissance Cafe and Oasis Pub East). His original musical style can be aggressive one minute and then very soft the next, incorporating his numerous musical influences.
