Biography

“Let’s face it folks, we are experiencing a musical crisis. Television has sold its soul and no longer has the authority to define good music. Radio stations are playing the same songs over and over again. New musicians that are receiving recognition are often “created” by money and sex appeal rather than being born the musical prophets that are desperately needed to cure the millennium’s musical famine. Fans and connoisseurs need something real, music they can rely on, words and rhythm laced with truth and emotion instead of borrowed verses and beats. Are there musicians that write the sound of their souls and perform pieces of themselves? There is at least one.”

“Michael Cole verbalizes what cannot be seen. Whether he is playing acoustically solo or has a full band backing his talent, his songs are charismatic invitations to view life through his eyes. After traveling half-way around the world and living on the island of O’ahu for the past few years, Michael Cole is back in his home state of Colorado with a unique perspective and matured style. Singer, songwriter, musician, and independent producer, Michael Cole cannot silence the sound he hears inside nor the creative energy that has been building up since he first touched the piano in grade school. In November 2006, his first independent album, All My Words, was publicly released and has since received airtime on KRFC’s “Live at Lunch” program as well as 99.9 The Point and KCSU radio stations. Two songs off this thirteen-track album are currently in the Top Ten rock contenders in the International Song Writing Competition. Needless to say, the world has taken notice of Michael Cole and it is just the beginning.”

“Colorado’s infamous music scene was the first to open its doors for Michael Cole, who has a large local following and has played gigs, both intimately small and large, at venues such as The Guitar Cellar, Lucky Joes, Colorado State University, and The Pinnacle Theatre. Every show is an opportunity for Michael Cole to connect with his audience and present a quality of musical entertainment that is accessible and refreshingly meaningful for all those present. A lover of music, Michael Cole has dedicated every minute of his free time to writing songs, recording in the studio, networking, and making his music available to the public. Whether live at the local hot spot, fresh off the radio waves, or in home entertainment systems nation-wide, All My Words is growing in popularity and reassuring the public that authentic, inspiring music is not dead. In fact, All My Words, named so because of its thought provoking title track “All My Words” will not be the last we hear from Michael Cole. This driven and multi-talented artist is already back in the studio recording his second album that is scheduled to be released in August 2007.”

“Michael Cole sounds unlike anyone you have heard before. Ask him to cover your favorite song and you will discover his rare ability to not only do the song justice, but somehow leave you with front-row-and-center goose bumps. But originality is his forte and he performs his self-written songs with a passion and voice that reminds you that you are in the presence of a true artist: poet, singer, and instrumental performer. Michael Cole excels beyond simply composing and producing great music, he takes the risk to sing autobiographically; exposing his experiences, thoughts, and needs in every verse, without a second thought about it. Listening to his songs leaves you knowing him just as well as he does. True Music.”

Questions Never Answered

Questions Never Answered

One more night, standing in the emptiness of, one more life.
You say I, should care if I don’t see tomorrow, why?
I don’t mind, every dream I ever had is lost to me.
I can’t find, anyone around who I can let inside, to be,

Close and trusted, anyone who held my heart they,
Lost, they dropped it, forgiving hollow promises I,
Learned to live by covering the tears with empty laughter,
Here I am with questions never answered…

Why did she, chose another over me,
Can’t she see, who I am, the man that I could be,
What if I, had made my life with a different set of choices,
Would I feel alive, or would I still be voiceless…

One more night, living with a bottle as my friend,
Try to drown, life is hard to swallow in the end,
All I want is an ending to unhappy ever after,
Here I am with questions never answered…

Why did he, choose his pride and hatred over me,
I don’t see, how never coming back is love for me?
Why must I, face the days with other peoples choices,
Love is dead, and once again I’m voiceless…

What is happy? I don’t mind, can’t you, see me laughing? Why if life always, looking down, don’t be, looking down on me.

Why do I, always find the drugs are in my hand,
I am fear, I am this confusion, I am,
Standing here, why should I care for tomorrow’s laughter,
Here I am with questions never answered…

Simple Magic

Simple Magic

Never think that I don’t see the way that you smile, while you’re looking at me,
I know, what you’re thinking, It’s the way you work your magic girl,
You’re filling up my head.

And never think that I don’t see the way that you slow, when you walk on by me, I know,
You been fishing and its me on the end of a line with a hook in my mouth.
You wonder will follow you maybe, anywhere that you want me baby.

Its not like I’m wrapped around her finger, but I don’t think I could ever leave her.
I guess its obvious your spell is working, cause all I ever do is think of you and,
Take a moment let me try to explain, your simple magic girl is driving me sane.

Some people say that love is not where you want to fall in,
Well its too late I fell in, I’m in so deep now,
You could never get me out without a gun to my head.
Some people say they know that love is never a game you can win,
You lost already once it begins, well let it begin,
It’s the simple kind of magic I could lose myself in.

You wonder will I love you maybe,
Every day that I wake up baby.

Its not like I’m wrapped around her finger, but I don’t think I could ever leave her.
I guess its obvious your spell is working, cause all I ever do is think of you and,
Take a moment let me try to explain, your simple magic girl is driving me sane.

Liars Follow Gold

Written By: Michael Cole

Liars Follow Gold

This simple life is breaking down. Every time I turn around, everything is upside down.
This world is dying faster, what if we are the cancer,
Inside a life that’s breaking down.

If you believe, what you see on TV screens,
You don’t know nothing, you really don’t know nothing.
If you find, find yourself with peace of mind,
You don’t know nothing, you really don’t know nothing…

But I know, that while so many suffer I, Could not go, to sleep without thinking of the others.
And I grow, wiser as I hear the liars, and they know, people follow liars follow gold.

And we all know how it will end. Bodies lying on the ground, young lives turned upside down,
They say war is the answer, I say war is the cancer, Inside a life that’s breaking down.

If you believe, what you see on TV screens,
You don’t know nothing, you really don’t know nothing.
And if you feel, that fighting will end fighting well,
you don’t know nothing, you really don’t know nothing…

But I know, that while so many suffer I, Could not go, to sleep without thinking of the others.
And I grow, wiser as I hear the liars, and they know, people follow liars follow gold.

If we could see, the people hold the power,
If we could free, ourselves from wasting all our hours,
Why not believe, we could give our children, give em peace.

But I know, that while so many suffer I, Could not go, to sleep without thinking of the others.
And I grow, wiser as I hear the liars, and they know, people follow liars follow gold.
People follow liars follow gold.
