Bio
"Singin' in the Rain", "I'll Be", "You Raise Me Up", and "Back at One". When you first read that list of songs, what comes to mind? If you guessed a versatile vocalist who can sing in several genres, you would be right.
Michael Focas has been singing and performing since the age of nine. Then, his training started with the Florida's Singing Sons Boychoir.
At the age of thirteen, he was first bit by the theatre bug when he played the role of the Scarecrow in "The Wizard of Oz". Since then, he has performed in many musicals.
He has appeared twice on Univision's wildly popular variety show "Sabado Gigante", where he has walked away with the $1,000 cash prize in one of their talent segments. In addition, he has performed in many venues: Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, Flat Rock Playhouse, Stagedoor Manor, Coral Springs Center for the Arts, and others.
He has sung in English, Spanish, German, Italian, French, Portuguese, Latin, and other foreign languages. His mixed heritage (Greek-Dominican) gives him an international appeal. He is particularly marketable in Latin America, because he is bilingual (English and Spanish).
