Bio
With his delicate and touching approach to music, Michael Gullo’s rich tone and subtle phrasing show maturity beyond his years. From an early age, Michael felt an immediate attraction to jazz. After being selected “Best Male Vocalist” at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival two years in a row, Michael was able to attain a place in the exclusive Gibson/Baldwin Grammy Vocal Jazz Ensemble where he was a featured Vocalist and Vocal Percussionist. In 2009, Michael toured the USA and Canada as the Lead Male Vocalist with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and in 2010 was cast as a young Frank Sinatra in Phil Ramone’s “Lanza.” He is currently attending the University of Miami pursuing a degree in Jazz Voice and Studio Music (graduating in May 2011). Michael has performed on stage with Patti Austin, Bobby McFerrin, Bruce Hornsby, James Moody, Steve Miller Band, Phil Woods, Tierney Sutton, Jon Secada, Ricky Skaggs & Sunny Wilkinson. Through his distinct vocal styles, arrangements, and compositions he strives to create a fusion between contemporary and classic music for all to enjoy.
