Michael Hamilton

I began music at an early age, learning piano and theory but it was not until I was 15 that I got my hands on the guitar and truly found a love of music. I have studied independently, the hit-makers of Elvis Presley to U2, pop or rock genres alike. I went to college to receive a diploma in jazz and contemporary guitar. I have had the opportunity of being a student and playing with some amazing musicians that have shaped and guided my musical career. My very first lesson on Improvisation was with the legendary Paul Horn, an unforgettable experience. Misha Piatigorsky, a jazz guru from NYC, filled my teenage summers with jazz idioms that left me stumped well into the winter months. The past year I have been performing with the Marc Atkinson Trio. Established in 2000, the group has released four albums and has a solid roster of gigs to boot. I had the pleasure of part taking in many of these shows including Montreal Jazz Festival and private function for the Queen of England, where we were the showcase act. Currently, I am putting the finishing touches on my EP release, a self-titled indie pop-rock project, showcasing my love of music and words. The EP is produced by Miles Foxx-Hill, who has produced albums for Michael Buble and Paul Brandt and has also worked and performed with Van Morrison and Colin James along with many other notable artists.
