Michael Hingson is the New York Times best-selling author of Thunder Dog: The True Story of a Blind Man, His Guide Dog, and the Triumph of Trust. Hingson, a miraculous survivor of 9/11, is the national ambassador for the Braille Literacy Campaign. Michael, who was born blind, is no stranger to discrimination. When he was a high school student, the school district refused to allow Michael to board the school bus with his guide dog. His father did his own research and, together with Michael, they fought the system, eventually getting a seat on the school bus. A graduate of the University of California (Irvine) and a cum laude graduate with a master's degree in physics, his life is a testimony to the power of trust, perseverance, and the amazing bond between humans and animals. Hingson is an international speaker presenting on the topics of trust, teamwork, leadership, diversity, and inclusion to audiences worldwide.
