Michael John

Michael John is a 26 year old singer songwriter from Dublin. Having cut his teeth in different bands, touring mainly in the UK, Ireland and parts of Europe, the time is right to concentrate on a solo project. In his previous adventures in The Marshals he signed a record deal with Universal Music in the UK (Mercury Records) as well as a publishing deal with Blue Mountain Music. The band played memorable gigs at the Oxegen, T in the Park, Reading and Leeds festivals as well as gigs with Artists such as Razorlight, Scouting for Girls, The Hoosiers, The Automatic & The Script. His most previous band Television Room enjoyed success in their native Ireland with 2 top 40 singles while signed to Faction Records. With influences such as, Leadbelly, Chet Atkins, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Alison Krauss, Ryan Adams, Smog and Devendra Banhart, Michael uses Dobro, Steel String, Banjo and Mandolin, Glockenspeil, Omnichord, Melodica, Piano to create a unique sound that colours his simple songwriting approach.
