Born and raised in Connecticut, Michael K (Keith) Johnson now resides in Florida. After receiving his initial training as a young child and becoming serious as a teenager, he went on to study music at North Texas University. Shortly after, Michael K went on to study orchestration and arranging under Don Sebesky and later studied voice with pop music icon Michael Bolton. Although Michael has written and produced many tracks for other artists, the CD “Moment In Time” is Michael K’s first full length solo effort for the public in general. Most of the tracks on the CD were written, arranged, produced, and performed entirely by this gifted artist. It was only a matter of time before the “man from K” would make his mark with a refreshing mix of pop, jazz, and soul music delivered in a way that’s sorely missing in today’s modern music. With the guitar as Michael’s principle instrument, and strong proficiency on piano, bass, and saxophone, Michael K has always shown the unique ability to combine the latest Hip-hop, Jazz, Rock, and R&B grooves into a smooth classic feel that’s reminiscent of the exciting days of vinyl when we hung on to every note. That’s Michael K today! Michael’s songs have had a profound influence on music lovers of all generations and from all walks of life. His warm tenor sound is easy to recognize and his composition style has established its own standard. Michael K’s music embodies the art of songwriting in its most fundamental form. He has been at it for many years transforming his innermost thoughts into lyrics, melodies, and harmonies that comfort and reassure listeners of all ages and backgrounds. When Michael is not marketing his own original project, he is performing with his very funky and versatile classic pop, rock, and soul band named "STYLE POP" doing Motown, 80's classic hits, and top 40 cover tunes. Always mixing in his superb originals of course. Michael arranges all of the cover songs too. The sky is the limit when you choose Michael!
