(...)Ein Musiker, der sich bereits im Vorjahr meinen allergrößten Respekt verdient hatte und dieses Gefühl erneut bestätigte, ist Michael Lonstar. Aus Polen importierte er nicht einfach nur seine Melodien und Geschichten zu uns, sondern eine spirituelle Harmonie. „Country Music is our life. So welcome to our life", empfing er seine Gäste im Bluebird Café. In seinem Song 'What´s This Country Thing' veranschaulichte er die Mühen, seine Art Musik immer wieder definieren, sich fast dafür entschuldigen zu müssen. Damit dürfte er so manchem seiner Kollegen aus der Seele sprechen. Und auch die Fans kennen die Situation, wenn dieses „Country Thing" in der Außenwelt immer wieder auf Unverständnis stößt. Bis zur CMM im Februar in Berlin wird Michael Lonstar im übrigen sein neues Album fertig haben, das auch ein in polnisch gesungenes Duett mit der Allgäuerin Suzie Candell enthalten wird. Country Music überschreitet mal wieder Grenzen und das ist gut so! Zumal Suzie mich persönlich mit ihrem Auftritt bei der diesjährigen Messe überzeugen konnte, dass die ihr immer wieder zugesprochenen Talente tatsächlich reifen und sie ihre Rolle mit Charakter ausfüllt. MICHAEL LONSTAR is arguably the most important figure of country music in Poland, one of its father-founders and a major driving force behind this subculture, an authentic Living Legend.
Singer, songwriter with an impressive list of hits to his credit that in time have become the evergreen anthems, guitar player, producer of his own musical projects, concert-and-festival promoter, dedicated propagator of country lifestyle.
He is the only Polish artist to date to have ever appeared onstage the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, in 1989 and again in 1990. That year he also sang at the Summer Lights Festival at the invitation from the Nashville Songwriters Association and on the TNN cable television show "Nashville Now".
The list of his awards includes Entertainer of The Year, Male Vocalist, Album, Vocal Collaboration, Event of The Year and many others.
In 2008 Lonstar released his new album titled "WHAT'S THIS COUNTRY THING", which contains 14 self-penned songs encompassing a variety of styles from New Traditionalist, to Nashville mainstream, to Texas Outlaws, to Country Rock.
He takes a true pride of collaborating with a German rising star, Miss Suzie Candell. They have already cut a duet song “You and I”. He also collaborates with singers/songwriters: Stan Silver (USA) and Mandy Strobel (Germany).
Lonstar makes music his own way: straight from his heart, inspired by a down-to-earth reality, intelligent, rebellious, the music that makes the difference.
He also performs solo and trio acts – most eligible in smaller venues, clubs etc.
