Michael Lubars

Michael Lubars is an aspiring singer/songwriter from New York City, who plays, writes and records his own music. Born in Boston, he has lived in both Los Angeles and Minneapolis. His parents are both huge music lovers, exposing him to the music of the Beatles, Bob Dylan and the Beach Boys from an early age. During his senior year of high school, Michael became obsessed with writing music, and has written over eleven albums worth of songs since. His writing style is a fusion of the melodies of John Lennon and the lyrical style of Tom Waits and Bob Dylan along with many other influences that are like ping pong balls to their paddles. What makes Michael unique is the way in which he takes the ordinary and transforms it into the extraordinary by filtering it through is own artistic urges. While his sound takes it's influence from the past, Michael is constantly trying to find new and modern ways of communicating with people. The musical, literary, and visual influences are there, but are bashed, twisted and bent into something that is a unique reflection of him. Michael Lubars hopes to be a professional musician one day.
