The Bio of R&B Singer, Producer, Song Writer Michael Lyles

Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, at the age of 16 Michael Lyles received his first musical keyboard from his father. After receiving this new equipment, Michael looked to his father and asked “What am I suppose to do with this keyboard”? In turn Harry Lyles told his son Michael to “figure it out”. Michael's family couldn't afford to pay for piano lessons but being the bright young diligent star he taught himself to play by ear.

After just a year, at the age of 17 Michael auditioned for a non-profit Record Label by the name of: Teen Patrol Records in Chicago, IL. By the time Michael auditioned for Teen Patrol Records he already had a catalog full of songs that he wrote himself. During the time of Michael’s audition with Teen Patrol Records, the label was in great need of a young but talented staff producer and writer. Who was better to fill the position other than Michael Lyles, because after auditioning for the position, Teen Patrol Records elected Michael to be their #1 producer and writer.

At the age of 18, how was Michael able to handle such a highly devoted position? Well, Michael was never one to run from a big challenge. Although Teen Patrol Records had at least 10 acts(singers, rappers) from multiple cities , he always found a way to adapt to any situation or time crunch even though he was the only producer for Teen patrol. Teen Patrol has trained Michael on how to record, sequence, mix and master songs. From 2000 to 2003 Michael wrote and produced for Teen Patrol Records. In his time at Teen Patrol, Michael was able to accomplish producing 3 full compilation albums, 10 EP albums, 12 #1 single on an independent level and 8 Demo’s.

Artist’s that Michael has written and produced for with Teen Patrol Records are: Baby C, Lil G, Vonya and Nisha Holmes, Alan Price JR, Lil Wish, Boo aka Tha Blockk, Phil G, Simple Pleasure, The G G’s, Lou Boys, Jimmy, Brianna, Playa Thugs, Ebonie, Victoria McCoy. As of 2009 Michael Lyles has completed his first studio EP (press kit) entitled FIRE. Michael is an up and coming rising star that the world will soon know because his music touches and inspires anyone who hears.

It is not only Michael's musical ability that makes him special but also his perseverance, willingness to learn, and dedication. Michael never forgot those words his father told him that day and has explored the depths of his mind to find the creativity and passion that makes Michael the wonderful and talented artist he is today.
